My Return to JoG

MY RETURN TO JOHN OF GOD - JULY 28TH TO AUGUST 13TH

As some of you have been asking of me, I would now like to share my story of my return to La Casa de Dom Ignasio de Loyola, as is its true name. There, one of the  most famous icon trance healers of the world, John of God, heals the world. Many call it La Casa, which I will do so in this narration of my visit, to shorten its name.

After I finish writing my story I would like you to go to the photo album where I tell the story in pictures. Don't forget to click on the photos if you want to see them bigger.

This time around I went with my sister Angelina. She always wants to go with me when I travel, but I've had to put my foot down at times and say NO because it would require for Angie to leave her husband at home in Los Angeles for long periods of time, or there are times that I've wanted to see how far I can push the envelope, and test my fears, by going it alone on my trips. That's what I did when I went to John of God by myself last year on May of 2013. Now I was happy to be back accompanied by my Sis!

I was mildly shocked when I went to receive Angie at JFK airport - who was coming from her home in Los Angeles for us to go together to Brazil - and saw that something was not right with her right eye. It was popped out somewhat, and seemed to have a fixed look of amazement - like a deer caught in the headlights of a car. Also the eye was not moving correctly.

She told me that it happened when she went to a spiritual healing session given at a home in Los Angeles, and the next day she woke up with her right eye popped out. After she told the story I felt anger at the healer whom I accused of hurting Angie, but that was until after our trip to JOG ended, and we realized that the spirits, who had popped out her right eye, had done her a favor. This I will explain at the end of the story.

When we got to my apartment from the airport, and my roommate, Grace, saw Angie's eye, she immediately started  giving her osteopathic manipulation.  Grace is an MD and an Osteopath who knows how to perform miracles with muscles and bones that are out of kilter. The treatment lasted over two hours. After giving Angie another treatment the next day, Angie's eye almost looked normal, but not quite. She needed the spirit hands of the John of God Entities who were soon to perform spiritual surgery on her eye.

We left NYC for Rio de Janeiro on Sunday July 27th on TAM airlines from JFK. When we landed in Rio we had about 50 minutes to pass through customs and hurry to our connecting flight to Brasilia where we would be picked up by a driver sent by our guide from the hotel where we were staying, San Raphael.

Thank God that we took Josie, our group leader's advise, and asked for a wheel chair in Rio where we had to go through customs and transfer to our flight to Brasilia. I got on the wheelchair that took us through customs via the handicapped line that had only one person in front of us. We also didn't check our luggage. We had packed a small suitcase with the minimum of clothes to make it light to carry. If we had not asked for the wheel chair and had checked our light carry on suitcase, we would not have made our connecting flight to Brasilia because the custom's line was about two blocks long.

When we got to Brasilia we were relieved to see a young man holding a sign up that read Josie RavenWing's Group. Another person of our group, Judith, went with us in the taxi. We had our stomach in our throats, when we finally got to our San Rafael Hotel in Abadiana, because of the young man's crazy driving.

Pepper, Josie's assistant was there to greet us. She should have been named Peppy because that's just what she was. She insisted on giving us all a hug, and I liked that. To me hugs, given when I get to a strange place, relieve my fears, and give me courage to face the strangers that I will be meeting there. Pepper's hug made me feel at home right away.

Josie RavenWing, our guide, showed us to our room, and I was amazed at how big it was. It had two beds - queen and twin sized. Angie jumped in right away, and said she would take the twin bed. She always does that - picks the least for herself and gives the best to others. At times I find that quality in my Sis so annoying, at other times endearing. It was endearing this time because I was so exhausted from the trip that I just wanted to throw myself on the big bed and stretch out my arms and legs. I didn't!

The first night in Abadiana was so cold, and we didn't have blankets. We both slept in my big bed hugging each other for warmth. As I was hugging and watching Angie's sweet face with her eyes closed in sleep, my mind went back to when she was four years old and I seven, and she would always want to sleep with me. She was such a puppy in those days (she still is), and I felt so much love and tenderness for my "baby" Sis as the memories floated through my mind of our childhood years together. I said a prayer for her, asking God to bless her always and to please, please, please heal her eye. Then I fell asleep. The next day we were each given a blanket.

I didn't find Josie, our guide, as warm as her assistant Pepper, but I did value the no-nonsense approach to her that, at times, intimidated some in our group. But this was only in the beginning because by the end of the week I felt that all appreciated the discipline that she insisted all of us have in following the protocols of La Casa. I had read her mesmerizing book, The Book Of Miracles, the year before, and that was one of the reasons why I chose her as a guide. I also had been having strange psychic and spiritual experiences since 1970, shortly after I came to live in New York City, and I wanted to see if Josie could help me explain their meaning.

I was not wrong in feeling that she had some Shamanic powers because, when she did a meditation with our group, I felt such strong energy in the room that I think I went into a trance of sorts. The music that she chose for the meditation session was mesmerizing, and, along with her Shamanic-guided meditation, caused some in the room to cry like they were releasing so much pent up emotional stuff.

All of the guides at John of God have their good and bad points. One of the most positive points of Josie was that she was always attentive to the needs of her group. When my Sis felt a bit under the weather, Josie was there ASAP with medication that she had ordered from a town pharmacy, after I texted her that Angie wasn't feeling well.  I couldn't believe how quickly she answered my text and had ordered the medicine. When I heard a knock on the door and saw her standing there with a big smile holding the medication, I felt such tenderness for her.

I used Angie's medication myself, and it cleaned our insides out that whole night, and other nights, making them fresh and wholesome - and our personalities extremely friendly - for the remainder of our stay at La Casa.

Some mysterious events started happening to Angie and me almost from the start that we later surmised had to be coming from St. Ignatius of Loyola and the Entities. St. Ignatius was one of the most powerful Entities that John of God channeled, and we were told that now he only comes as an Entity on special occasions.

On the first afternoon of the day of our arrival, Angie and I were sitting in front of a hotel ledge, eating ice cream cones, when we saw an elderly gentleman slowly driving a black car. He stopped his car when he saw us, and parked it across the street from where we were sitting, and came to sit next to us. We found that strange, but took it as reflecting the friendliness of the folks of Abadiana.

We greeted each other and after asking us where we came from he told us that he was from the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil and had driven in with his wife for the feast of San Ignatius of Loyola that was supposed to be celebrated at La Casa the next day. Then he astonished us when he told us that about eight years ago he had gone completely blind in one eye from glaucoma and was almost blind in the other one . He said that the blind eye even had developed the white cornea of a blind person. His eyes looked perfectly normal to us.

After he came to John of God for treatments, the Entity, St. Ignatius of Loyola, had completely healed him after about six months of spiritual operations. He said that on his first day at La Casa he had gone to the statue of St Ignatius and, with a lot of faith, hugged the statue with all his might and begged the saint to heal him.

The gentleman than advised us to do the same as he had done, to ask the saint, with all the faith in our hearts to heal us. He urged us to hug his statue located in the Casa gardens because the saint loves hugs. This made us chuckle!

He got so emotional as he also pressed us to buy a small triangle from La Casa, and to ask St. Ignatius and the Entities, every da,y to heal our eyes as we place both hands on it. He said that the triangle is filled with very powerful healing energy.  He also advised buying a big bottle of Casa water that was blessed by the Entities, and if possible, using a dropper, to put drops of the holy water in our eyes. He said not to drink it but use it only for our eyes. He had done it three or four times a day for months until one day, after several months of coming to La Casa for surgeries, his vision started coming back. Now both eyes are 20/20.

Angie and I were flabbergasted that this man had been healed of glaucoma, which was one of the main reason why we had come to see John of God. Had he been sent by St. Ignatius of Loyola as a sign to us? We soon found out that might be so by what happened to Angie and me that night when we went to the rosary being prayed at the big hall of La Casa.

At the rosary session Angie and I sat apart, and while the rosary was being said in Portuguese, I just sat there thinking of our encounter with the gentleman a few hours ago. While lost in my thoughts, my gaze was centered on the large portrait of St. Ignatius hanging on the front wall of the big hall. Then, all of a sudden, a light flash came out of it. I was amazed and looked around to see if I could see signs that someone else in the crowd had also seen the flash. No sign.

When the rosary was over I told Angie what had happened, and she suggested that we step outside the big hall, and go visit the statue of St. Ignatius that was outside in the garden. As we were standing there in front of the statue discussing with each other about the flash that I had seen, Angie's small flashlight, that she was holding in her hand, started making a loud buzzing sound and then its lights started flashing on and off.

After getting over the shock of what we had just witnessed, we both yelled out "Thank you St. Ignatius!" Then we took turns standing up on the stone pedestal holding the statue, and giving it a big, warm and long hug. We knew we looked silly with our arms wrapped around the saint's head holding it so tight that, if the statue could breathe, it would have choked to death.

We thought it strange that a young man, about in his twenties who looked Brazilian, made us feel better when he passed by us giving a thumbs up with a big smile. That's a well known sign in Brazil when a person wants to show approval.

That night Angie and I decided to nickname St. Ignatius, Nachito, that in Spanish means Lil' Ignatius. We Latinos like to call people that we like a lot by their diminutive names. For instance Richard of our group would be Ricardito, and his wife Toni would be Tonita. We did secretly call them that behind their backs because we grew to like them so much.

Angie bought a small triangle for the two of us, and a large bottle of water at La Casa store, and, because we could not find a dropper in any town pharmacy, we just took a capful of the water two or three times a day, and gently let the water flow into each eye. We did this every day for the two weeks that we were at La Casa.

Angie took two bottles of the water to her home in Los Angeles in her carry-on suitcase, and the security agent, after talking to her supervisor, did not confiscate them. Angie did tell the agent that it was water from John of God. We considered that incident a miracle from St. Ignatius.

Our group consisted of people from all over the United States, Canada, and Australia. They all looked fairly healthy, but I had to sadly remind myself that, in my last year's group of 26, two of the healthiest looking had died suddenly shortly after leaving La Casa. I was especially close to one, Laura, and tears still come to my eyes when I remember her smile and her kindness.

We were reminded by a Casa speaker, whom Josie asked to talk to us, that we must not forget that La Casa is a spiritual hospital, and that people were there not only for healing of body, mind and soul, but to bathe and rest in the tremendous positive energy of its grounds. That's why we must always remind ourselves of this and try to be quiet in our conversations. La Casa was situated on top of an enormous crystal located underground, and UFO's are often seen hovering high above it.

I was there this time not only to ask the John of God Entities to heal my glaucoma, but also as a spiritual retreat. I have decided to go every year for a week or two as a yearly retreat, and be with a different guide each time and his or her group. I also want it to be a spiritual check-up of body, mind and soul in such a heavenly environment as is La Casa.

I was amazed at the healing or stalling of pain that La Casa brings to people when they are in its sacred grounds.  My God, so many people come with illnesses that really hurt the body, and that produce constant and agonizing pain, but miraculously, many don't feel it when they are at La Casa.

I couldn't believe how fast our group took to each other. I found all so easy to talk to and so kind.
I didn't know the reasons why some were there, but I later found out that one was there for stage 4 cancer, and others were there for emotional healing. Two from Australia told my sister and me that they were there to tune up their Shamanic powers.

Alex and Eileen were Aborigines who did possess amazing powers that they demonstrated to a group of us when we went out two nights to photograph orbs in La Casa grounds.

during one of those orb nights Eileen showed me why orbs always show up in her photos, even those taken with her cell phone camera, when only digital cameras are supposed to capture them. Alex used the video in his cell phone to capture an orb that incredibly turned into a UFO before our very eyes as we looked into his cell phone video. Eileen taught Angie and me the Shamanic prayer that she uses to call forth the spirits that show up as orbs in her cell phone camera.

I have seen a photo taken at night, a few years back, during a celebration of John of God's birthday, and hundreds of orbs of all sizes and colors showed up in the photo. Why are they there? They too must love to immerse themselves in the loving energy of La Casa grounds.

Eileen and Alex were both so delightful, and we loved the stories that they told us. One comical one was when Eileen narrated that, where they both live in Aussie country, Kangaroos are in abundance, and that she eats breakfast with some of them who come every morning into her kitchen, but not Alex - he eats them! Alex had a big bad-boy smile on his face when Eileen told us that story as we all looked at him in horror. But we all loved Alex whom Josie sometimes had to scold for forgetting Casa protocols. I miss them both and hope to someday visit them in their jungle-like area of Australia.

I will end this by telling of the second and last spiritual surgery that Angie and I experienced.

We were advised to be careful whom we told about our experiences because some people might consider them bizarre and cause negative feelings about John of God and La Casa in them. But I will take a chance that only those people who have not gotten bored with my story thus far, and who really want to know about our John of God experience will, in good faith, be eager to read on.

We were assembled in the big hall, and were called to go into the room where we were to meet John of God and the Entity that he was channeling, Angie and I walked slowly in line with many who were also dressed in white. It was a beautiful sight to see.

We approached John of God, who was in deep trance, channeling the Entity who was giving out orders and prescriptions for those who needed surgery. Both Angie and I felt a tremendous energy and holiness in the area, and the sacred music that was playing contributed much to the ambiance.

We were relieved when the Entity told us "surgery" in Portuguese, and John of God handed us a slip of paper with our prescription for herbal pills. We were then directed to another room where - after sitting for no longer than three to five minutes with our eyes closed while prayers were being said - we were told to go outside and another group filled the room.

Those of us who had been told "surgery," walked outside to the pharmacy to hand in their prescription, and after buying the spiritual herb pills, walked or took a taxi to our hotels where  we we were to rest or sleep in bed for 24 hours without talking.

Angie and I found this tremendously hard to do as we were not tired nor sleepy. Our lunch, dinner and breakfast were to be brought to us by the hotel staff during the 24 hours. Sometimes one of us had something to say, and would forget and utter it, but quickly remember that we were breaking the surgery rule and quickly stop in the middle of a sentence with an "oops" that would slip out of us. We must've oops-ed about 10 times in the beginning of our rest period until, finally, we both found ourselves falling asleep for long periods of time and dreaming strange dreams.

About 3 AM I half woke up because I felt a presence in the room. In my heavy drowsiness I thought I saw and could feel like, for want of better words, "white energy" going into my body, especially around the eyes, and then something funny happened. I felt I had to desperately go pee!

The Entity must have read my bladder because, I- kid-you-not, felt myself, half awake, being floated to the bathroom where I was gently seated on the throne, and given toilet paper to clean myself after I finished tinkling. Then, I couldn't believe it when I was floated to the sink to wash my hands. I don't remember if I dried them, but the last thing I remember is being floated back to my bed and falling completely asleep.

Angie's experience also happened in the middle of the night when she half awoke to find herself, as she humorously told me later, gently floating on top of the bed and slowly being turned around and around like a piggy on a rotisserie spit being barbecued. They seemed to be examining all sides of her body. She thought that they might be working inside her head on all sides too. Then she clearly heard a voice telling her that she must not stop using the medicines that her doctors at home give her.

That was sound advise because she was to find out from a glaucoma specialist, when she got back home to Los Angeles, that she had advanced glaucoma, and that she had to start taking several eye medications until she gets laser surgery September 16th. Angie felt such relief and happiness when her doctor, looking her straight in her eyes, told her not to worry, that he won't let her go blind. He is one of the best glaucoma specialists in the Los Angeles area

Now to tell you why the spirits, who had popped her right eye out, did Angie a favor during the spiritual healing session that she attended a few months back in Los Angeles. If they hadn't popped out her eye, Angie would never have gone to see an eye doctor, and might have damaged her eyes so badly that she might have gone blind. Angie, already in the last stages of the disease in her right eye, was in complete denial that she had a problem. Denial seems to run in our family.

After her last surgery at La Casa, when she was floated round and round, Angie could see so much more clearly. She had blurry tunnel vision in her right eye before the surgery, and the tunnel had widened to the point that it was almost gone when she left La Casa. She now has almost normal vision in the right eye.

As for me, I went to see my glaucoma doctor yesterday, and they were amazed at how normal my eye pressure was, almost like I no longer have glaucoma. But, I don't trust this sneaky, sinister disease, and will continue taking my eye drops until my eye doctor declares me definitely free of glaucoma just like the gentleman, whom we met in Abadiana and was sent to us by Nachito, was declared to be so by his doctor.

PS: As an aside I must add this anecdote to show the power of group prayer, in case any of my JOG group members read my story. On our last night, at the end of our two weeks, Josie and our group were having a fun farewell reunion when I was called out of the room by a member of the hotel staff. I had a phone call from my roommate in New York telling me that a beloved cousin, Lupita, who was like a sister to Angie and me, was on her death bed. The plug would be pulled at 6 PM Brazil time to let her die. A wave of sorrow came over me, and with tears in my eyes, I went into the room where our group was and told Josie what had happened. Angie and I, in shock, went to our room to pray. We had an hour before it all ended for Lupita. The next day, to our amazement, when we called our family in Arizona where Lupita lived, we were told that she had continued breathing after all life support was removed. This was great news because it gave the family time to summon all of Lupita's family to her bedside, and to meet some very kind and helpful people from hospice who helped the family prepare for Lupita's passing that happened three days later. Angie and I feel that it was Josie and our group, who stopped and said a prayer for Lupita after we left the room, that produced that miracle. Josie told us the next morning that she had seen a bright light as she was praying for my cousin and knew that all would end in LOVE for Lupita. It did! Thank you Josie and our magnificent group for your powerful prayers!

Now go and enjoy the amazing photos of our John of God experience that I posted on my Facebook Timeline.
